I’ve been keeping very busy over the last few weeks designing and making mirrors and working with a new client for a set of dining room chairs. The next major event for me is the Surrey County Show www.surreycountyshow.co.uk, which is taking place on Spring Bank Holiday 26 May 2008 at Stoke Park, Guildford. Let us hope the weather stays fair and it is an enjoyable day. It will be great if you could come along and visit the stand…..I hope you can make it.
A very busy couple of weeks in the world of GC Fine Furniture. I have received a number of enquiries for commissions including a range of furniture for a living room, a wall cabinet to fit in an enclosed space and a TV unit, which is an exciting project as it will include electronic mechanisms for that unique contemporary meets traditional feel that is evident in my recent projects. A busy man over the next few months is on the cards.
What a nice start to the day in sunny Gloucester. I’ve just received a commission following a tentative enquiry before Xmas to design and build a bespoke CD/DVD storage unit in brown oak. I shall be starting this project in the near future and will place on the gallery on completion.
A belated Happy New Year to you all from the Gloucester workshop. A couple of projects have been keeping me busy over the last couple of months including a bespoke hallway table out of American Wite Ash for an existing client; a basin stand out of steamed beech for a new client and a second basin stand out of beautiful brown oak, which will be on display in a bathroom and kitchen outlet in Gloucester called Dajon. This last project is an exciting development for GC Fine Furniture and a potential change to the one-off commissions that have been occupying me so far. I have also been designing and making a range of wooden framed mirrors from a wide array of hardwoods. Photos of all these projects will be on the website shortly.
Hello everyone. The last couple of weeks I’ve been busy finishing a corner unit to match the coffee table for my very first client. My next project is a bathroom unit to house a stone sink. Nice to work with solid wood after veneering for a while. Pictures of the corner unit will be posted on the gallery shortly.
I have been having one or two minor problems with the email system over the last few days which meant that some emails might not have reached me……this has now been fixed. Well, that’s my first show completed and I have to admit that after a few nerves at the start it went really well. I would like to thank all the people who attended my stand and made such lovely comments about my work. It is the nicest feeling in the world for you the public to appreciate my pieces and for the organisers to award me 3rd prize for best stand. Thank you all very much.
On Thursday 20th September I shall be exhibiting at the Thame Show - England’s greatest 1 day agricultural show in Thame, Oxon. If you are in the area please come along it would be lovely to meet you.
